Northpak announces aquisition of Package Supply & Equipment

Twinsburg, Ohio - NorthPak Container Corporation today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the packaging distribution assets of Package Supply & Equipment Company, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina.

NorthPak President Mary Dahl explained that the acquisition of PSE's Charlotte, North Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina operations as well as the assets of the Atlanta Georgia operation will add to NorthPak's already significant share of the container distribution market in the southeastern United States. "We are particularly excited to be adding 16 of the PS & E employees to the SouthPak team. Their dedication to their customer base has been terrific and we look forward to our customers being able to work with the same great people they have trusted over the years", said Dahl.

North Pak is a leading distributor of industrial containers and packaging products with headquarters in Twinsburg, Ohio. In addition to its' newly acquired locations, the company distributes its products to customers of packaging in Ohio, Kentucky, Southern Indiana, West Virginia, Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York from its operations in the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit and Louisville areas. Additionally, through its SouthPak subsidiary, the company distributes its products across the Southeast and Southwest from its operations in the Dallas, Houston, Little Rock and Atlanta areas.

NorthPak will operate the new locations as SouthPak beginning immediately; however the customer base of Package Supply & Equipment should continue to place their orders with their existing contacts at the same phone numbers in the Atlanta, Greenville, and Charlotte locations until further notice. On Wednesday, December 9, 2009 NorthPak Container Corporation acquired the assets of NPCI-II LLC, the container distribution arm of NP Group Holdings, a premier chemical and container distributor in the southwestern United States. NP Group Holdings will continue to operate the chemical distribution business from that location.

 The acquisition of NPCI-II represents a significant growth opportunity for NorthPak’s wholly owned subsidiary SouthPak, adding new opportunities in their current territories of Texas and Oklahoma, as well as in the contiguous states of Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico.  While building upon NPCI-II’s already strong product line and supplier offerings NorthPak will add new product lines to the expanded southwest operation offering our customers a  wider range of packaging on a just in time basis.

As an added benefit, Fred Scheunaman, VP Sales for NPCI-II, Jack Lee, NPCI-II’s Houston Account Manager, and Deb Gunderson, NPCI-II’s Customer Service Representative have joined the SouthPak team effective immediately. “We are thrilled to have these talented people join our organization” said Mary Dahl, President of NorthPak.  “NPCI-II is well known for its’ superior level of service provided on a daily basis by these folks, and we all will work very diligently together to achieve or exceed each customers’ expectations during this transition.” Dahl said.

Since December 9th, the NorthPak sales team has been feverishly working to bring all of the NPCI-II customers into the fold, which is going extremely well.   Additionally, the operations team has moved the offices of our new Houston team out of NPCI-II and into their own “digs”, completed all the necessary steps of implementing our Oracle operating system, and have consolidated inventory in Houston into one public warehouse which is quite an accomplishment for a few short weeks.
